Shop Local’ is the Message. ‘Use it or Lose it’

Our local shops on Cotham Road South , Tucks and Monikas for instance are happy to stock items asked for and indeed their range has altered greatly this past year. We are also incredibly lucky to live close to one of the best and most vibrant High Streets in England – Gloucester Road, with its run of Independent shops with locally grown vegetables or refilling stations for plastic containers.

Veg Box Delivery

There are several firms or farms that deliver either to your door or to a central pick up point. Riverford’s (from Devon) vans can be seen around but it is possible to pick a more local supplier

The Community Farm based at Chew Magna and is committed to environmental sustainability with 100% organic produce. https://www.thecommunityfarm.co.uk/about-us/

Leigh Court Farm is even nearer https://leighcourtfarm.org.uk

Bristol Food Network has a vision to make Bristol into a sustainable food city and supports the Get Growing Trail and other events and has a good newsletter https://www.bristolfoodnetwork.org

Milk deliveries

Whether the glass bottle is better for the environment than the plastic shop bought pint is a topic of debate but if you are able to find a safe place for its delivery and wish to have your ( organic or not) milk delivered then contact https://www.milkandmore.co.uk
