In 2007-8 the City Council produced a Character Appraisal of the Kingsdown Conservation Area. It is a useful and interesting document, which has already helped us to successfully challenge some unsympathetic planning applications. It is also an interesting guide to Kingsdown, with photos, detailed maps and authoritative descriptions of the history, architecture and general amenities.
We were very impressed with the way the Council carried out the consultation and discussion during the process, and we were pleased that nearly all the suggestions made by the Group and local residents were adopted in the final document.
